North Wiltshire, PE - The Humber women's cross country squad capped off a memorable season by securing a ninth-place national finish on Prince Edward Island this past Saturday. Senior leader Catherine Irwin delivered a standout individual performance—finishing tenth in the country and earning her second All-Canadian honour of her career. Meanwhile, on the men's side, seniors Liam Bauman and Chino Rodney wrapped up their collegiate seasons with strong individual efforts.
Women's Team Recap

From the gun, Humber's women rose to the occasion. Despite the very cold, slippery, and wet terrain, the team secured a top-10 ranking nationally. Their ninth-place finish reflects not just one standout runner but consistent depth across the lineup. At the heart of the effort was Catherine Irwin, who, after a successful run at St. Lawrence College and then at Humber, has built a career defined by progress, leadership, and composure in big races. Her 10th-place result nationally and the second All-Canadian distinction she now holds serve as a fitting capstone to her collegiate journey.

Also concluding her career this weekend was Zoë Collat, whose contributions over multiple seasons helped solidify Humber's position on the national stage. Her steady presence in the lineup and commitment behind the scenes have been vital to this program's success.

Here are the women's individual times:

The team's collective performance—anchored by these strong individual results—placed them 9th in the country, a standout finish that elevates the program's profile.

Catherine Irwin: Career Highlights

Catherine's journey began at St. Lawrence College, where she established herself as a determined competitor before moving to Humber, where her experience and leadership blossomed. Over her collegiate career, she evolved from a promising talent into a national-level performer. Now, with her 10th-place finish and second All-Canadian honour, she joins the ranks of the country's best collegiate distance runners. Her legacy: a teammate who led by example, embraced the challenging workouts, and raced with composure when it counted.

Men's Team Push for an Individual top-50 finish

On the men's side, seniors Liam Bauman and Chino Rodney finished their collegiate seasons in style. Liam led the duo with a strong showing and Chino followed closely behind.

Individual times for the men:

Their efforts helped maintain the competitive depth of the men's squad and set the tone for next year's group.

Looking Ahead

With the women finishing ninth nationally and Catherine Irwin handing off the baton after an exceptional career, Humber's program is in a strong position. Zoë Collat leaves big shoes to fill, but the culture they helped build—of consistency, toughness, and team-first spirit—is firmly in place.

On the men's side, as Jaivir Singh Sandhar graduates, the returning runners now carry the torch, having been inspired by those senior performances and poised to raise the bar further.

Congratulations to every athlete who raced this weekend and to the coaches and support staff who helped guide the program to this national-level finish. The finals of the season have come, but the foundation for next year's success has been firmly laid.
