HAMILTON, ON – The Humber Hawks cross country teams continued their dominant early-season form this past Saturday, travelling to Marydale Park in Hamilton for another strong showing. The women's team came out on top for the second time this season, while the men's squad secured their second podium finish, landing in third place overall.

Women's Team Remains Untouchable

The Humber women's team solidified their position as the province's best, dominating the six-kilometre race to secure a convincing victory. The squad finished with the best point score of the day, netting 40 points. This performance reinforces their national standing, as they are currently ranked as the third-best women's collegiate team in the country and the best women's team in the province.

Captain Catherine Irwin once again led the charge, finishing second overall with a time of 22:46. Rookie sensation Jennifer Hartnell followed up, clocking 24:38 for an eighth-place finish. Skylar Allsopp came through fast, finishing third for Humber, clocking 25:52 and finishing 14th. The women's scoring was rounded out by Christina Serrano in 16th (26:23), and Zoe Collat in 20th (27:45).

Men's Team Climbs the Ranks

The men's eight-kilometre race saw a strong team effort from the Hawks, resulting in a third place finish with 53 points. This showing is expected to propel the team up the national rankings, with a move from their previous 8th rank into the top 5 being anticipated. They currently stand as the third-ranked men's team in the province.

Team captain Liam Bauman had a standout performance, setting a new personal best of 26:56 to finish 9th overall. He was closely followed by newcomer Chino Rodney, who finished 12th with a time of 27:46. Joshua Pascoe was the third Hawk across the line, finishing 14th in 27:55. The depth of the men's team was on display as the remaining scoring runners finished tightly grouped: Kyle Obico was 18th (28:33), Jaivir Singh Sandhar placed 23rd (28:46), and Jean De Grano-Lacroix rounded out the speedy group in 25th (28:53).

Up Next: The Provincial Push

The Hawks will look to clinch their spot for nationals in Prince Edward Island when they return to Marydale Park on Saturday, October 25th, for the OCAA Provincial Championships. With both squads performing at an elite level, expectations are high for them to punch their tickets to the CCAA competition.

The women's race will begin at 11 AM EST, followed by the men's race at 12 PM EST.
