Sixth consecutive OCAA title for Women's Golf at Watson’s Glen
PICKERING – The Humber women's golf dynasty continued its reign at Watson's Glen Golf and Country Club, as the Hawks captured their sixth consecutive OCAA team championship and 14th overall since 1999. Humber dominated the three-day tournament with a team score of +26 (458), finishing a commanding 38 strokes ahead of runner-up St. Clair College.
Leading the way was Susan Chen, who capped off a stellar performance by winning her first career individual gold medal. Chen was the only player in the field to post all three rounds in the 70s, firing 74-73-75 to finish at +6 (222), nine shots clear of the competition.
Veteran Jordon Newlands returned to the OCAA podium for the first time since 2017, claiming silver with rounds of 81-76-84 for a +25 (241) total. Her consistent play provided both experience and leadership for the Hawks.
Playing in her first provincial championship, Ava Bechard rounded out Humber's scoring, delivering a clutch final-round 79 to finish tied for fourth at +30 (246).
St. Clair's Justine Gorham captured individual bronze at +28 (244), while Georgian's Bryden Dilley tied Bechard for fourth.
The team victory adds to Humber's unmatched history of excellence in the sport. Since 1999, the Hawks have stood atop the OCAA podium 14 times, more than any other women's program in conference history.
All three Humber players were named to the All-Ontario team.
